Opportunities to Offer Input and Stay Informed on the Process
October 3, 2008
Dear Colleagues:
This has been a very busy week for all of us who are involved in the Transformation Process. Town Halls with faculty, appointed professionals, and staff allowed President Shelton and me hear thoughts from hundreds of participants. A Town Hall for students is being scheduled for next week.
Understandably, people are anxious about how the Transformation process will affect their programs and departments. To keep the campus informed, I will continue to send out weekly memos, and President Shelton and I will be going into more depth on developments in columns in Lo Que Pasa and other venues.
We also need your frank input so that we can achieve our shared goals.
In order to provide people with opportunities to raise questions and offer suggestions, there is a new website devoted to the UA Transformation process: http://provost.arizona.edu/transformation_information. This site serves as a central resource for updates on the process. This website includes the specifications we sent out for the White Paper, which are due October 13. A "Frequently Asked Questions" link can provide answers about the process steps. You'll also be able to find the White Papers shortly after October 13.
President Shelton and I are optimistic about the future and committed to working in partnership with you to position the University for even greater success. We look forward to further opportunities to discuss your concerns and learn from your input in the coming weeks.
