Eugene G. Sander

Vice Provost & Dean

Eugene G. Sander is vice president for university outreach and dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at The University of Arizona.  He served as executive vice president and provost of the university from July 2007 through April 2008.  His goal is to improve life for the people of Arizona and beyond-through education, research, creative expression, and community engagement programs.

Prior to his move to Arizona, Dr. Sander served as deputy chancellor for Biotechnology Development (Texas A&M), director of the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, head of the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (Texas A&M), chairman of the Department of Biochemistry (West Virginia University), and associate chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (University of Florida).  He was the assistant chief of the Biospecialties Section at the Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory while in the USAF.  He holds degrees from the University of Minnesota and Cornell University.

In addition, Dr. Sander either serves or has served in a variety of other professional activities including: president, Glyndon Farms Company; Executive Committee member, Consortium for International Development; Board of Directors, Arizona Farm Bureau; and chairman of the Board of Directors of ADEC Corporation.
