Experiential Learning Guidelines

Note that off-campus experiential learning activities may proceed as normal. Academic departments offering experiential learning experiences for credit will no longer be required to ask internship host institutions to assess their COVID-19 protocols as a part of the credit approval process. Students should be advised that it is their responsibility to understand and follow any requirements of a site where they will engage in research, internship, practicum, or other practical training experience for credit, whether as an employee or guest of the site. When requesting approval for internship credit, as it was before the pandemic, students are required to submit the University Internship Work Plan, which includes the student acknowledging their receipt of the Disclosure on Insurance Coverage for University Internships for Credit (this disclosure begins on page 6 of the linked Internship Work Plan).
We continue to review public health data daily to inform our approaches to sustaining the safety of our campus and our community. We will communicate any needed changes to planned operations, based on the advice of public health officials and our own experts, and will post instructional updates on the Academic Instruction Resources page.
