Karen Francis-Begay
Karen Francis-Begay is a citizen of the Navajo Nation and is the Assistant Vice Provost for Native American Initiatives at The University of Arizona (UArizona). She leads and coordinates programming in collaboration with academic units and colleges to support Native American students and faculty. She has served on many national and regional boards to advocate for educational opportunities for Native American students and for women of color. Karen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and a Master of Arts degree in American Indian Studies and has her Ph.D. in Higher Education from the UArizona. Born and raised on the Navajo Nation, she is of the Tábąąhá clan (Edge of Water) and born of the Kiyaa’áanii clan (Towering House).
