Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness & Human Resources
As Vice President for the Division of Human Resources, Allison Vaillancourt provides strategic leadership in the areas of human capital and organizational culture. She has broad responsibilities for competitive compensation and benefits programs; innovative faculty and staff recruitment and hiring; employment-related policies that foster organizational effectiveness; work-life, employee wellness and productivity programs; affirmative action planning and reporting, equal opportunity investigations; and professional development that supports management effectiveness and individual success. In addition to providing oversight for the Department of Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity, she is a co-principal investigator of the University’s ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Program and teaches in the School of Government and Public Policy. She has held leadership positions in several national human resources-related organization and is active in local public policy efforts. Prior to joining the University of Arizona in 1996, Dr. Vaillancourt held roles including, Assistant to the President for the University of Colorado System, Research Administrator for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine, and District Director for the American Cancer Society. She received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s LaFollette School of Public Affairs, and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado’s Graduate School of Public Affairs.
