New Funding Opportunities Supporting Scholarship and Student Success
Now open: Provost’s Graduate Fellowship, Scholarly Engagement, and Author Support Funds.
Dear faculty and academic leaders,
I am pleased to announce the launch of two new funding opportunities, made possible through the Provost’s Investment Fund, now open for submissions. In addition, the long-standing Provost’s Author Support Fund continues to be available.
These programs are designed to advance the university’s strategic imperatives, foster scholarly engagement, advance student success, and generate broad positive impacts across our institution.
Scholarly Engagement Fund
Managed by the Office of the Provost, this new fund supports units in hosting scholarly activities such as conferences, symposia, workshops, speaker series, and poster sessions. Funding is limited to hosting and does not cover professional development or individual travel to external conferences. Requests of up to $5,000 will be considered. Rolling deadlines: Oct. 1, Feb. 2 and April. 1. Learn more and apply at provost.arizona.edu.
Provost's Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) Finishing Fellowship
Managed by the Graduate College, this new fellowship funding underscores our commitment to graduate student success and timely degree completion. It provides financial and academic support to help recipients finish their GIDP master’s or doctoral degree during the award period. One fellowship of $25,000 will be awarded to a GIDP student in the final semester of their program. Nomination deadline: Oct. 20. Learn more and submit a nomination at azcultivate.arizona.edu.
Provost’s Author Support Fund
Managed by Faculty Affairs, this fund supports faculty and academic professionals with research and publication responsibilities. Awards of up to $1,500 per applicant are available on a competitive basis. Application deadline: Last Friday of each month (rolling basis). Learn more and apply at facultyaffairs.arizona.edu.
Together, these opportunities reflect our shared commitment to advancing scholarship, supporting student success, and strengthening our university community. I encourage you to apply and to share these programs widely with colleagues and students who may benefit.
Thank you for your continued dedication to the university’s mission.
Warm regards,
Patricia A. Prelock
