Community Conversations
We will split the Community Conversation section into two parts:
Part 1: Learn about the exciting initiatives driven by our established university community groups. Explore specific opportunities to join their efforts, collaborate on shared goals, and contribute to fostering engagement and connection on campus.
Part 2: Attendees will participate in three meaningful discussions that cover a variety of topics. Participants will have the chance to vote on subjects that will inform these conversations, including building community beyond individual units, fostering environments where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive, and self-care practices to adopt during times of change at the university.
Community Aid Activities
Upon entry, attendees are encouraged to donate hygiene products, including toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and shaving cream. After lunch, participants will assemble these donations into care packages for Youth On Their Own, a nonprofit dropout prevention program in Tucson dedicated to supporting the high school graduation and continued success of youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to write supportive messages to the students involved in the program.
Those who choose to donate will be entered into a raffle held during the opening ceremony.
