For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Commencement will bring all graduates together in person at Arizona Stadium. Dante Lauretta, principal investigator of NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, will deliver the keynote address.

Led by University of Arizona alumnus Arthur "Barney" Maccabe, the Institute for the Future of Data and Computing will explore the societal questions driving how and why data is used.  By integrating data, networking and computing, he says researchers can target today's most complex and pressing challenges, such as precision health care, cyberspace security and climate resilience.

Lauretta is principal investigator of the UArizona-led OSIRIS-REx mission, NASA's premier mission to visit a potentially hazardous near-Earth asteroid and bring back a sample.

The contribution from UArizona alumnus Terry J. Lundgren and his wife, Tina, will fund collaborative research and education opportunities to provide innovative solutions to the retail challenges of the future.

The University of Arizona is ranked No. 93 overall, No. 49 among U.S. institutions and No. 27 among public colleges and universities in the annual Center for World University Rankings, released Monday.
