Faculty Survey on Student Engagement March 17 – May 11
Your insights help us understand and strengthen student learning experiences.
Dear Colleagues,
At the University of Arizona, student success is our North Star. Faculty, staff and administrators work together to ensure Wildcats receive a high-quality education, have the support they need to succeed and graduate prepared to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our community.
To support this work, the university will participate in the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE), which looks at effective educational practices that are linked to high levels of learning and development and measures instructional staff expectations for student engagement.
At the same time, first-year and senior students will be invited to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). The survey asks students about their academic experiences, study time and interactions with instructional staff.
Together, FSSE and NSSE results provide valuable insights that inform assessment efforts, institutional improvement and campus conversations about teaching and learning.
I invite faculty, instructors and graduate students who teach undergraduate courses to participate in the FSSE.
About the survey
- The FSSE is done in Qualtrics from March 17 through May 11 and is administered by the Center for Postsecondary Research at Indiana University.
- The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
- Your responses will be confidential and no identifying information will be provided to the University of Arizona.
- Please look for FSSE communications in your email during this period. The sending email address is FSSE Survey <noreply@qualtrics-survey.com>.
If you have questions about the survey or how the results will be used, contact the FSSE Project Team at fsse@arizona.edu. Visit the FSSE website for additional information.
Your feedback is invaluable and I sincerely appreciate your time and thoughtful participation.
Sincerely,
Patricia A. Prelock
Provost and Chief Academic Officer
