Brian Edstad

Dr. Brian Erstad is the Interim Dean of the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. Dr. Brian Erstad earned his PharmD from the U of A in 1987 and following his residency at the academic medical center joined the College of Pharmacy faculty. He served as head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science from 2012 to 2024 and was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in 2025. A former member of the college leadership team and a valued colleague, Dr. Erstad has built a distinguished national and international reputation for his contributions to pharmacy education, clinical practice, and health outcomes research.

As a PharmD, Dr. Erstad brings deep expertise to clinical training programs and clinical pharmacy advancement. He has held prominent leadership positions, including serving on the boards of three national pharmacy organizations, which included serving as president of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
