University of Arizona Data Repository
Confronting grand challenges and institutional needs
Shan Sutton, Dean, University Libraries, submitted a proposal titled, “University of Arizona Data Repository” and was awarded $548,544. The primary goal of this project is to provide curation for research datasets and related research outputs that are the result of research activities at the University, and to support collaborative, reproducible, and open research on campus through sustainable stewardship. The project aligns with the UA Strategic Plan, especially Pillar 3 – Grand Challenges, which would help the university meet the goal of a top 25 rank in R&D expenditures and increased rankings of academic programs due to a valuable infrastructure for researchers. In order to sustain the repository, University Libraries will engage the Research, Discovery and Innovation and University Information Technology Services offices to form a jointly funded budget.
