Chrissy Lieberman

Dean of Students

Chrissy Lieberman is the Dean of Students at the University of Arizona. Lieberman joined the Dean of Students Office in 2012 as an associate dean overseeing Student Assistance & Accountability and was appointed Dean of Students in Spring of 2025 after serving in the role as interim during the 2024-2025 academic year. 

Dean Lieberman plays a pivotal leadership role in campus health and safety and fostering an environment that emphasizes community and well-being. This includes working with campus stakeholders to evaluate campus climate, resolve priority situations, and coordinate resources and communications.  

Dean Lieberman empowers students by offering engaging and educational experiences that foster accountability, well-being, and personal development through tailored programming, formal and informal dialogue, preventative initiatives, and holistic support that enriches their Wildcat Experience. As the DOS, Chrissy is committed to a campus culture of student success so that students can excel academically, socially, and personally to become responsible and active members of our campus community. 

In her role, Lieberman offers leadership for the campus community in navigating the First Amendment, conflict management, critical incidents, behavioral intervention, student accountability, restorative practice, and student well -being and building resilience.  She also serves as a member of the General Education instructional team. 

As a first-generation student and two-time University of Arizona graduate, with a B.A. in Education and M.A. in Art Education, Lieberman recognizes the impact attending the university, and being involved as student, had on the direction of her career.  

Lieberman strives to support and identify students’ potential as they navigate their way to graduation just as her advisors and mentors did for her. Students are the heart of campus and Lieberman embraces seeing students come to campus with a sense of wonder, perhaps overwhelmed, and then finding their belonging and realizing their potential. 

In support of students finding connection, the Dean of Students Office offers recognition and support of hundreds of student organizations as well as leadership and engagement opportunities through Arizona Student Media (Arizona Daily Wildcat, KAMP Student Radio, and UATV 3), The Associated Students of the University of Arizona,  Fraternity & Sorority Programs, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps -ROTC (Army, Navy, Air Force) and Veterans Education& Transition Services (VETS).
