Spring 2020 PIF Report
On December 2nd, 2019, the Office of the Provost issued a campus-wide call for Spring 2020 proposals to the Provost's Investment Fund (PIF). We received 68 proposals, requesting approximately $9.8M in funds. From the 68 proposals submitted: 55 were new submissions and 13 were re-submissions, with 60% led by males and 40% led by females. The ethnicity report is below.
All of the proposals we received were exceptional, making the decision a difficult one. Due to the institutional challenges newly presented by COVID-19, a very limited investment is possible at this time. Only those proposals that are most likely to generate new revenues in a short period of time to the university have been selected for funding. My heartiest congratulations to the awardees, and thanks to all those who made submissions.
Below are the proposals selected for funding for two years.
College | Proposal title | team leader | team members | amount |
---|---|---|---|---|
Eller College of Management | Eller Graduate Programs in Phoenix East Valley | Paulo Goes |
Pam Perry Amy Schmitt |
$200,000 |
College of Fine Arts | The Collaborative Digital Performance Laboratory | Cynthia Stokes | Joseph Farbrook | $197,407 |
TOTAL | $397,407 |
The funded projects are required to submit annual reports at the end of each fiscal year. The reports may be shared with Provost Leadership Team, Provost's Council, Deans' Council, President's Senior Leadership Team, and will be included in our PIF Annual Report.
We would like to thank the review committee: Vingesh Subbian, Alice Kim, Maribel Alvarez, Kim Patten, Jim Florian, and Nina Bates for their time and efforts reviewing the proposals.
