Mary Beth Tucker

Vice President of Equity and Title IX and Interim Chief Compliance Officer

Mary Beth Tucker is Vice President of Equity and Title IX and Interim Chief Compliance Officer at the University of Arizona.

Mary Beth has over 25 years of experience investigating and resolving discrimination-related complaints and providing training programs on topics such as sexual harassment prevention, discrimination law, and religious and disability accommodation issues. She also has experience in strategic planning, developing organization culture, mediation, federal and state law compliance, training and development, and management coaching. Since 2014, Mary Beth has been a Professor of Practice for the University's James E. Rogers College of Law, teaching Corporate Compliance and Title IX and Civil Rights Law. She has also had the privilege of presenting on these topics at national professional conferences and seminars.

In her previous role as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources, she provided consultation and guidance to supervisors, managers, and senior leaders on a wide variety of HR topics, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment strategies, application of policy and legal compliance, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

Mary Beth graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in political philosophy from the University of Dallas. She earned her law degree from the University of Arizona‘s James E. Rogers College of Law. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). 

Before joining the University of Arizona, Mary Beth worked at the United States Department of Labor Office of Federal Compliance Programs (OFCCP) enforcing federal employment discrimination laws and regulations.
